And the winners are........ as 'pulled' randomly from our papier mache bowl....
The Gritty Bird
A winner in the USA, one in outside UK Europe, and one in UK. Sometimes random works out rather nicely.
Thank you to everyone who wished to win, much appreciated! It was intriguing to see your choices for a custom painting. I shall be creating three custom paintings some time quite soon.
This weekend, tomorrow infact it is my 40th birthday..... so I shall be eating cakes and there may be fireworks:) I'll share a bit about it next week...
Nina asked yesterday to explain a little more about Bonfire Night. Well, it is celebrated each year, November 5th and is associated with Guy Fawkes and his plot to blow up the Houses of Parliament, many years ago, and yes he died a horrible death... and yes no-one really thinks too much about the meaning of it all these days, but because of the gunpowder connection we now have fireworks and a bonfire. It used to be, I remember as a tiny girl, people would build a Guy using old clothes stuffed with newspaper - a bit like a scarecrow. And kids would take their guy around in a wheelbarrow and beg 'penny for the guy'.... but begging like that is now frowned upon and I can't remember the last time I saw it. The Guy is burned on the bonfire. People don't do that so much these days either. Maybe because to be honest it's not so entertaining. As a child, we used to have fireworks on my birthday. Catherine wheels of course. Spinning fireworks that get nailed to the garden fence. So, this rather long-winded explanation has probably left you none the wiser!
I've enjoyed this week of poetry birds - the process of making new birds and seeing them come to life..... New work has been added to my shop and sold. Thank you! There are some items still available, so do take a look if you fancy. Next week they'll be just one update, on Wednesday. A few new items. Meanwhile, I'll be adding a few new paintings to my etsy shop this coming Sunday.
Also next week I'll tell you about my November painted book project.
Thank you kindly, and enjoy your weekend x
