monoprints - three from a growing series with the basic working title 'land & storm'.... these may seem different from my usual work but for me this is going back, going right back to where I began many years ago when working at college and making inky smudges and photographing Kew Gardens in black and white before the days of digital....
I really, really enjoy making monoprints - both the line drawings and the painterly landscapes..... give me a stack of paper and a tube of ink and I'm happy for several hours....

Oh wow Cathy. I can see that you are loving making these... They are absolutely gorgeous!!!
these are gorgeous, so atmospheric!
Absolutely love this recent series of work Cathy, I used to love to play with this style of monoprinting too, but haven't done any for ages. I love the black and white
Would love to see MORE :o)
The smell of printer's ink can be very intoxicating! The middle one looks like outside my window...very nice.
these are beautiful Cathy.
Beautifully moody images - interesting to see where you've come from - as you rightly say very different from your work now but equally arresting - I love working with black and white film as well - thank you Cathy
many thanks - I really appreciate your encouraging comments, I am continuing to work on this series and am looking forward to sharing more x
I like your moody prints too. I have been doing some monoprints following my life drawing class this week - my knees are OK but I have black feet!
I absolutely love, love, love your landscape prints! Could you give us instruction on how you do them?
thank you again, thanks jackie and debbie
I am thinking of putting together a some kind of tutorial/guide/sharing class all about printing by hand, some time, and will share more in the near future, yes
Love these!!! Very inspiring! I can't wait to see more. There is something very romantic and haunting about your work that I love. Whether it's a landscape or figurative it's so uniquely you.
So beautiful Cathy. I would love to see more too. You are a creative powerhouse!
