New mixed media pieces...... for my 'Romantics' series.... the figures are becoming quite abstracted and as always I enjoy the challenge of sewing through different materials.....
I was asked recently to share what kind of machine I have etc... this is a frequently asked question, I don't mind you asking at all, of course.... I have a basic machine, non computerized, with a clear foot and the dog feed down so that I can work using free motion stitches... I've had this machine for about eight or nine years at least and we've got to know each other pretty well....
I'll be updating my shop tomorrow with new sketches/paintings & mixed media

Thanks for answering the questions Cathy. I have used my old Kenmore with the feed dogs down for mending. I suppose it is the same principle, but with a lot more control and practice! Some of your peices are so complex...so many stitches...I can't imagine. The idea of drawing with thread is just sooo inviting. Not only could you "see" the drawing, but you could also "feel" the drawing. Do you ever just sit and run your fingers over a piece? I know I would (and do when I am working on a bit of embroidery).
thank you - oh yes I love the tactile quality of working with stitches and will often spend some time just feeling rather than sewing! Drawing with thread is a really interesting way of exploring line and expression - I hope you enjoy any experimenting with your sewing machine.
I love the textures in this and your use of text
beautiful! your work seem to come from somewhere in the realm of the dreams
The loose stitching and threads are beautiful.
They suggest a movement to your figures.

These are so beautiful, with all the non-fabric materials sticking out on the sides, I really like that!
