darker

darker

Cotton and linen pieces... several dyes together to make a darker result, yet each result different of course (such is the nature of....) I think they may want to be stitched down just like this, perhaps.....

i like these results. did u 'fix' the dye? we did natural dying a while ago but just boiled the fabrics with the plant stuff so i wasn't sure if i could used the dyed fabric for anything that would need washing?

thank you ger - the bark is still waiting..... I think it will give light shades, if anything...

notmassproduced - I use alum as a mordant to fix the colours,mostly. I also tend these days to use dyes that I know will stay over time, so walnut, onion madder etc.... - hope that helps you

it never crossed my mind to dye, over-dye & over-dye again a piece of fabric. Now this is a very interesting thing ...

I love your dyed work! It's so beautiful. I found you via flikr. My work is somewhat similar but more geometric.
