tiny heads - a happy conclusion

tiny heads

the hand, the hand....there is no escaping.....

the group

I made over one hundred tiny heads.... beginning January 1st of this year.... I had a big crazy idea to make 365 tiny heads, but after three or four months of tinyheading (that is a word, you can type it), I decided to rest my fingers and save my nails... well no, I kind of lost my head thing a bit and decided to quit whilst I was ahead....

ok no terrible head metaphors

thank you to everyone for their comments and for cheering me on as the days went by....

Now it is Summer Solstice tomorrow, and traditionally I use that date as a time to draw a line and start again, it's like having a new year halfway through.... So I am putting this project, officially to bed, to rest, yes to rest those weary heads.....

or not so weary.... I think many of them have a story to tell. I may take some more photographs of all the chaps together, all the blondes etc.... all the specs....

I would like to give some of these heads away. I will keep some of them. I may sell a few and as suggested give some money to charity.

The tiny heads say hello and farewell....x

A magnificent effort, Cathy. I was amazed by your ambition to be so consistant as it is something I often aspire to. But 100 and solstice is round enough, and don't they make a fascinating collection! Love your varied perspectives!

That´s happy news indeed (not the putting to bed, of course - the successful conclusion...) - this has been an enchanting + inspiring project...

Well, your handiwork sure inspired me and my girls (tiny rabbits). Bravo for accomplishing what you did. And, I simply LOVE your tradition of commemorating another new year 1/2 way through the year. Best to you!

They are beatiful. It is not important if there are 100 or 356 thats artistick freedom. They stil are very exclusive, I love them 100 times.

Fantastic! I love these heads and the head jokes!
I'ld like to see them all placed out in nature..in the grass, on tress etc, What fun you can have with them.
If you're selling I'ld love to buy one.
Best Wishes

The heads are truly wonderful grouped together like this Cathy. I for one, will miss the progression of new heads, but it was always going to be a huge project to make 365. I shall look forward to seeing the heads popping up from time to time in future work and projects. I am just in the process of blogging about your beautiful poetry zine. I have been enjoying it tremendously but have guests staying with me at the moment so I haven't had a moment to write and let you know how wonderful it was to receive a copy. I will now re-read and savour the words and enjoy the artwork

I do like the new look of your blog Cathy

Lots of love
