Gently dressed in vintage kimono fabric.... it's the detail I love to work on, that little medal/brooch with red thread.... is infact an old jewellery clasp and with a vintage button.... I'm so grateful to friends who find me old buttons and 'bits and bobs' to use on dolls.
It really has felt like time to make new dolls. Although I have made them now and then, It's been a while since I really sat and worked and worked at them - and often dolls get pushed to the bottom of my list. Enough of that - I don't wish to make them frown......

and so I am delighted to be working on a new series of dolls - indeed this week has been declared 'doll week' - as I rediscover, reinvent the doll designs I have created over the past several years..... Dolls are a true love. They have kept me busy for quite a while now. Each doll is worked on individually, and I know this may be a slower way of working - and these new dolls are all hand-sewn because I prefer making them with careful hand stitches and small knitted hats, or stitched ears. And each her/his own character.
In my shop this week will be a generous offering of new dolls - on Thursday. Also hope to offer some postcard prints.
And yes the pointy hat chaps will also be making an appearance on Thursday.....
I'll share more tomorrow x
