Hello from a very f o g g y - place..... not a pea-souper, as in the days my Granny often remembered, but still, quite murky. Definitely autumn weather. So at least for the moment we are having the weather one might expect....
Many thanks to all the artists, makers and photographers featured in this week's mosaic, via my Flickr contacts.
October and November are always months I look forward to and then again I don't. On the one hand the nights are drawing in and I actually like closing the curtains and switching on the light in the evening. My family like to feel that cosiness. But then again we have murky days like today, rain storms and more - plus the tiredness creeps in and it's important to pace yourself, but easier said than done. I'm one of those people who can be greatly affected by the changing seasons and a sunny day is a really lucky bonus. One of the best birthday presents I got a few years ago now was a super quality daylight light bulb. I know that doesn't sound like much of a present but it was thoughtful and that bright light - when I need it - whether to find a pin or finish a painting - is very handy indeed.
Yesterday I decided it was the day to bring the cacti in from the garden until after the winter. They have grown and thrived outside. Still got a few bulbs to plant, but living on a tight budget means I've been selective, so it's a few dainty daffodils this year - and I know if I plant them soon they will make me smile next February or March. There are many hundreds of spider webs in the garden, in hedges, on structures and trees - all around today.
Enough of my seasonal chat.... This week I am going to update my shop on Thursday. There will be new dolls, new paintings and a few other surprises. I'll hope to preview things here and over at my Facebook page.
So I have many careful stitches ahead of me - and wish you a very good week ahead - more soon x
