yesterdays continued

yesterdayscapetwo1

red-caped yesterdays doll with her smaller sister.... I maybe, perhaps, possibly spent too much time making that red cape - but I don't think so really.... it is made using vintage red linen and has a hand-dyed lining. For my dollmaking I use a mix of vintage, new and hand-dyed fabrics and mostly always vintage buttons and trim. The yesterdays dolls are designed to be displayed on a wall or perhaps hooked on a cabinet door, or the smaller ones look rather special on a tree... They have a handmade energy, with hand stitch detail - which is hard perhaps to convey in photos.

Both here will be in my shop tomorrow - along with several others - as part of my special 'doll week update' - though to be honest the dolls don't stop after this week and I shall continue on with them for as long as they wish....
